Yes, completely. No premium tier, no hidden fees, no "freemium" trap. Mentors give their time voluntarily and mentees pay nothing. That is the deal, and we intend to keep it.
We score every available mentor against your profile across four dimensions: how closely your goals align with their skills (40%), industry match (30%), whether they still have capacity for new mentees (20%), and how complete their profile is (10%). You see your top 10, ranked. Mentors already connected to you or at capacity are excluded automatically.
Every mentor is a real working professional who chose to join and volunteer their time. We do not verify professional credentials — mentors are community members sharing their own experience, not licensed advisors. Their profile tells you where they have worked, what they know, and how many mentees they can take on. Read it carefully and trust your instincts.
You set your own availability and capacity. There is no minimum commitment. Some mentors take one mentee a quarter; others take five. You accept only the requests that feel right, and you connect on your own terms. The platform handles introductions. The relationship is yours to shape.
Both of you get each other's email address and LinkedIn profile. From there, you reach out, introduce yourself, and take it at your own pace. One conversation or a years-long relationship. Both are completely valid.
No. Who I Go Be is built for Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, but the community is open to anyone. What matters is the intention to connect, grow, and show up honestly.
That is entirely between you and your mentor. We do not impose timelines or milestones. Some matches are a single clarifying conversation; others become a long-term relationship. You decide what you need.
It happens. Either of you can end a mentorship from My Matches at any time. There is no penalty and no awkward process. Just move on and request someone else.
